Codex skin switcher

Switch Codex skins with a restore path already open.

Switcher traffic wants to move between looks quickly. The safe version is still file-first: stage a real pack, inspect background.png and theme.json, apply with the user's active Codex theme tool, verify the core screens, and restore immediately if readability drops.

1

Stage a pack first

The switcher should not start from a loose screenshot. Install the Skill, fetch a known pack, and keep the files reviewable before any visual override is applied.

python3 "$CODEX_SKILL_DIR/scripts/fetch_skin_pack.py" caishen-readable
2

Switch to the readable starter

Caishen Readable is the best first switch because it has the strongest current download signal and a softer contrast profile for daily work.

3

Restore if the UI gets tiring

A switcher is only usable when undo is obvious. Keep a restore prompt beside every pack and reject themes that hide text or controls.

Restore my default Codex theme now. Disable the active third-party skin override, keep my downloaded skin packs untouched, confirm the native Codex UI is readable again, and tell me which switcher path was reversed.
Switcher-ready packs

Try one pack, verify it, then switch.

Each option below points to a real page and download. Use the switcher workflow only after checking source files and restore notes.

Boundary

This is not an official Codex theme switcher.

Codex Skin Gallery is independent and not affiliated with OpenAI. It provides public-safe skin packs and switcher prompts for users who already understand their active third-party theme tool.

Need manager?

Use the manager page for pack libraries.

If the user needs to store multiple packs before switching, start from the manager workflow.
